Scott Walker vs. Tom Barrett

North Shore Republican Club
The difference is clear.

Walker Barrett
Fiscal Responsibility
  • Fixed a $3.6 budget deficit inherited from the previous Democrat administration.
  • Balanced budget without raising taxes.
  • Saved Wisconsin school districts tens of millions of dollars by empowering them to choose their own health care insurance provider.
  • Already saved taxpayers over $1 billion through changes made by Act 10.
  • Raised taxes on Milwaukeeans seven out of eight years as mayor.
  • Increased Milwaukee's spending by $338 million. The city's budget increased 31% since he took office!
  • Was upset that Walker didn't pursue the controversial fast track train money from the federal government that would have strapped Wisconsin taxpayers with an estimated $7.5M-$10M annually in future subsidies.
  • Is the main proponent of the two mile trolley idea that would serve only the downtown market at a cost of over $100 million. There is no valid business case for this!
Pro-Growth, Pro-Business, Pro-Jobs
  • Understands that businesses provide jobs.
  • Understands that growing the business base is a good thing.
  • Has seen thousands of jobs created this year alone despite the left's vow to make Wisconsin 'ungovernable'.
  • Has seen unemployment rise to 10.5% during his term as mayor.
  • Sides with the forces that have been making Wisconsin businesses nervous through threats, harrassment and relentless recall elections.
  • Scoffed at Governor Walker's $100 million Transform Milwaukee job initiative.
  • Couldn't even lure a local company to Milwaukee with a $100 million incentive.
Uniting Wisconsin
  • Governs for all Wisconsinites, not just special interests.
  • Claims he wants to unite Wisconsin but sides with the divisive forces that have chosen to redo elections of 2010 despite the cost to taxpayers of millions of dollars.
  • Simply participating is this race only serves to pit neighbor against neighbor.
Commitment
  • Despite constant threats to himself and his family by radical leftists, Walker has stayed committed to the citizens of Wisconsin.
  • This will be Barrett's third time running for governor. Earlier this year, he was running around telling Milwaukeeans how he was committed to Milwaukee. Then, a few days after winning that election, he announces that he was running for governor.
